Split levels before EP3-OFB meant a floor with deformed levels of rooms. In other words, at least a level of room has to be compressed at most down to 4-click-high/4-step-high for a split level feel. Yet, such 4-click-high/4-step-high limit can be bypassed by a few ways already:
- Mootilda's TS2GirdAdjuster
- V1ND1CARE's Wall Height adjustment in under 4 clicks
- How to change wall sizes through lot-modding: HEX-editting on Grid Point Value in 3D array Instance 1
Since EP3-OFB, stages were introduced, and this added some more options on how to make split levels.
After all, split levels have to be built along with split stairs for sims access. Thus namely, building split levels can also mean building split stairs with connecting/modular stairs for a larger landing regions(s) unless a standard-floor-high {16-click-high/16-step-high/3.0 (in singles)} level of room is the split level one is envisioning.
